VIP dinners
Sow Good Giving provides you with the chance to enjoy a six to eight course farm-to-table meal with up to 100 friends, family members, co-workers, or colleagues. During this VIP dinner, you enjoy great music, even better conversation, and the opportunity to learn. The best part of this meal? 50% of all money raised will provide families, children, seniors, your neighbors living in a food desert a box filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, or a specialized meal. Food deserts are low-income communities that have no easy access to healthy, affordable food. There are many negative side-effects to not having access to healthy food, one of these is that many residents that live in a food desert struggle with obesity due to fast-food eating. People that live in food deserts often do not want to eat at fast-food restaurants but in many cases, it is the only option that is available.
The funds that we raise will provide low-income families with our free and low-cost CSA (community supported agriculture) boxes. Our CSA boxes include a variety of seasonal vegetables and fruit. These boxes also include access to our Cook with the Chef sessions, which will teach the recipients how to use their CSA box ingredients to create a delicious, and nutritious dinner in just 30 minutes or less. Here at Sow Good Farms, we also invest our time in educating low-income communities about backyard gardens. We provide communities with free vegetable seeds, smart device mentoring, and amazing bags of compost! Backyard gardens are a fun and sustainable way to combat a food desert. When there are no options to buy fresh food or quality ingredients Sow Good Farms wants to be there to help these communities learn how to provide it for themselves.
